Overview/Recap – 2012
At the Economic Forum, October 23–24, in Frisco, Texas, attendees heard several knowledgeable economists and financial industry experts share their forecasts and shed light on how the upcoming elections may impact credit unions. The day before the Forum, the CU Financial Management Seminar attendees heard industry-specific strategies for managing credit union balance sheets during this tough economy.
Regardless of which way the elections go, attending the 35th Annual Economic Forum and CU Financial Management Seminar, gave credit unions a head start on the future.
Voters soon will have their say. Will the result of national elections put the nation on a new path, or do voters want to stay the course? Will there be a push to overcome gridlock, and will leaders take action to develop solutions to long-term challenges facing the economy?
In today's face-paced and competitive marketplace, credit union officials must anticipate change and react quickly. The Economic Forum, along with the CU Financial Management Seminar that precedes the Economic Forum, is the perfect opportunity for credit unions to gain insight for surviving – and thriving – this challenging era.
