Dan Abdill - Senior Investment Officer for Catalyst Corporate,

Dan Abdill has over 10 years of experience assisting credit unions with all their investment needs. Dan’s knowledge of the fixed income markets helps credit unions across all asset sizes meet their portfolio and balance sheet objectives through investments in agency bonds and in jumbo CDs through the SimpliCD program. A registered representative of CU Investment Solutions LLC (ISI) since 2004, Dan is based in Portland, Oregon.

Prior to joining Catalyst Corporate, Dan was an investment officer for Northwest Corporate FCU. He first joined the credit union movement in 1998 as a consumer loan officer with LoansToday®, a CUSO of what was then the Oregon Credit Union League. Dan attended Southern Oregon State College, majoring in fine arts, and the University of Oregon, where he majored in political science. He currently holds FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses through ISI.

Deanna Edwards - Investment Officer/Operations Specialist for
Catalyst Corporate
Deanna Edwards joined Catalyst when it was Southwest Corporate in November 2003 as an investment assistant and then was promoted to investment officer and operations specialist.

Deanna entered the investment industry in February 1973 with an extensive operational and trading background. Before joining Southwest Corporate, she spent six years managing the commission and registration department for a Dallas regional broker/dealer which employed 200 to 300 independent representatives. Then she spent 14 years on the trading desk with a Houston regional institutional bond firm. Prior to that, she spent a year in the trust department of a local Houston bank with some time spent in the accounting department. Deanna began her career as a margin clerk with Merrill Lynch and E.F. Hutton.

Sarina Freedland - Senior Investment Officer for Catalyst Corporate,
Registered Representative for CU Investment Solutions LLC
Sarina Freedland has 29 years of experience in institutional fixed income markets and has honed her credit union focus during a seven-year tenure with Georgia Corporate Federal Credit Union. Her ability to translate the complex financial markets into usable information, her presentation techniques and her communication skills work together to create a professional and trusted investment partner for Catalyst Corporate’s members.

Sarina brings together a member service focus and a working knowledge of the bond market from a sales and portfolio management perspective. This combination enables her to provide credit unions with information and tools necessary to create a well-structured investment portfolio. She was instrumental in more than doubling Georgia Corporate’s market share to 60 percent in just three years. During her tenure, Georgia Corporate was the top-producing corporate (out of 27) in the national broker/dealer unit.

Previously, Sarina was an institutional fixed income sales representative for 13 years at Wall Street brokerage houses, specializing in agency, mortgage-backed and corporate bond securities. She applied her knowledge of fixed income investments to managing portfolios as her career turned to the customer side. As head of the fixed income trading desk for a global investment management firm for six years, she assisted portfolio managers in fulfilling the needs of 700 accounts, totaling $13 billion in assets. Her later work with a state retirement system allowed her to hone her skills in the specialized securities lending area.

Sarina earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from University of Georgia and holds her FINRA Series 7 & 63 securities licenses.

Kathy Gensler - National Sales Executive
In her role as National Sales Executive, Kathy Gensler is responsible for  keeping credit unions informed about the financial products and services available to them through Catalyst Strategic Solutions and Catalyst Corporate Federal Credit Union. Kathy has been serving credit unions for more than 30 years and has a diverse background in investments, portfolio management, balance sheet management, cash management and business development.

Most recently, Kathy served as liaison between Western Bridge Corporate Federal Credit Union and its Southern California small-to-mid-market member credit unions, promoting the corporate’s investment, liquidity and payment services.

During Kathy’s tenure at WesCorp, she spent 25 years in the investment department. Her many roles and responsibilities have given her broad expertise in portfolio management and asset/liability management.

Kathy has a bachelor of science degree, business administration in finance, real estate and law from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Ben Lemoine - Investment Officer for Catalyst Corporate,
Registered Representative for CU Investment Solutions LLC
Ben Lemoine joined Georgia Corporate Federal Credit Union in 2006, and is now a Catalyst investment officer. Ben is responsible for providing member credit unions with investment portfolio strategies and investment products that best suit their portfolio.

In addition to investment sales experience, Ben has extensive experience with the corporate’s asset-liability management tools. Ben works closely with members to explain their options, to guide them through the interest rate risk reporting process, and to interpret and present the results of their reports to management and board members.

With a strong knowledge of fixed income investments, Ben has also assisted in the purchase and sale of various investments for the corporate’s investment portfolio and has supported the corporate’s investment accounting system.

Ben received a bachelor of business administration degree in economics and a master of business administration in finance, both from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. He also holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses. Ben is fluent in French and German. He is an active member of Beta Gamma Sigma and the MIT Enterprise Forum.

Frank Lugo - Senior Investment Officer for Catalyst Corporate,

Frank Lugo's career in the investment field has spanned more than 30 years, with the last 10 years in the credit union industry. Areas of specialization include real estate, mortgage/trust deed financing, financial planning, equity markets, capital markets and fixed income markets.

Most recently, Frank served as a liaison between Western Bridge Corporate Federal Credit Union and its member credit unions, providing education and assistance with liquidity, working with the Federal Home Loan Bank and Central Liquidity Facility, SimpliCD, corporate credit union lines of credit and loan participations. He also helped credit unions with ALM services, interest rate risk mitigation strategies and portfolio investment opportunities, such as agencies, MBSs, CMOs, CDs, taxable municipal bonds, repossessions, discount notes and overnight funds.

In addition to his tenure at Western Bridge, Frank has 20 years’ experience working at several Wall Street firms and large money center banks.

Frank graduated from Mt. San Antonio College and holds FINRA Series 7, 53, 63 and 66 securities licenses.

Mike McGinnis - Vice President, Investment Sales for Catalyst Corporate,

As the Vice President–Investment Sales for Catalyst Corporate and Catalyst Strategic Solutions, Mike McGinnis coordinates the marketing and sales functions of all analytic and investment services and also manages Catalyst's brokerage team.

Mike began serving the credit union industry in 1996 with the CUNA Mutual Group where he worked with member brokerage and insurance programs, credit union marketing, lending solutions, employee benefits and credit union insurance coverage. Mike is a strong proponent of the value of the credit union industry and cooperative structure. Throughout his 16 years within the credit union movement, he has focused continually on providing a strong value to credit unions and their members.

Mike holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Southeastern Louisiana University, a master's degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas, and holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 24 licenses. Away from work, Mike's time is spent with his wife and four children. He serves as chauffeur and basketball coach for two, and as an attentive audience for the other two who have been performing entertaining dance recitals for 13 years.

Tim McWilliams - Senior Investment Officer for Catalyst Corporate,

Tim McWilliams, senior investment officer at Catalyst, is a veteran fixed income specialist, with more than 25 years of experience in selling investment products to credit unions. Tim has a deep understanding of credit union balance sheets and works closely with credit union senior management to help them identify opportunities and mitigate risk. He is skilled in assisting credit unions with managing their ALM services, bond accounting, loan participations, and fixed income products, such as Agency CMOs and MBSs.

Prior to joining Catalyst, Tim was a senior vice president for First Empire Securities.

Tim attended Adelphi University and currently holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, and 63 licenses.

Nathan Quade - National Sales Executive
Nathan Quade joined Catalyst Strategic Solutions in March 2008 and has spent his tenure within the National Sales and ALM departments. He started as the lead relationship manager, primarily for Investment Services, for five key Western U.S. states. Then he transitioned into ALM Services, where he completed standard ALPs, comprehensive BancWare Ambit, supplemental validation and Advisory ALM client analyses. These projects also included ALCO consulting and conducting client education webinars.

Nathan currently is based out of the Plano, Texas headquarters. He is helping all credit unions east of the Rocky Mountains get connected with Catalyst's premier platform of investment services including, but not limited to, ALM, Advisory and Brokerage.

Before joining Strategic Solutions, Nathan held consulting positions and ALM roles and titles of controller and finance manager at natural person credit unions for more than 10 years. Nathan has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Illinois, where he was chief financial officer of the Illini Student Federal Credit Union. He also is a Western CUNA Management School and CUNA Financial Management School graduate.

Al Schiliro - Senior Investment Officer for Catalyst Corporate,
Registered Representative for CU Investment Solutions LLC
Al Schiliro is a Catalyst senior investment officer. He is an experienced fixed-income specialist with more than 20 years experience working with investments. Al has acted as a bond trader, investment analyst, and in a variety of management capacities throughout his career.

Before coming to Southwest Corporate, Al was an officer and registered principal for Primary Financial Co., LLC (PFC). PFC is one of the largest CUSOs and a provider of the nationwide SimpliCD program. Al was an integral part of the senior management team that created, started and established the SimpliCD program and the brokerage and securities division of PFC. While with PFC, he worked with credit unions and other institutional investors, utilizing his skills in analysis and investment identification to direct clients through different investment scenarios.

Al's education includes two undergraduate degrees, a master's degree in business administration, a graduate certificate in financial analysis, and training from the New York Institute of Finance in investment analysis and portfolio management. Al is also a member of the Global Association of Risk Managers (GARP). He also holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Zane Wilson - Senior Investment Officer
Registered Representative for CU Investment Solutions LLC
Zane Wilson is a Senior Investment Officer, Brokerage Services, for Catalyst Corporate Federal Credit Union. In this new role, Zane will focus his efforts on building value into the products and services that credit unions receive through the expanding Brokerage Services program. He will work directly with credit unions of all sizes and complexities, providing balance sheet and investment expertise.

A 23-year Catalyst Corporate veteran, Zane most recently served as Vice President, Investment Services, a role in which he oversaw many functions, including the Advisory Service, the Investment Brokerage Service, the ALM Service, Investment Operations and Investment Services Sales.

Zane began his career with Catalyst Corporate in 1988 as an advisor, when the organization’s newly-formed Investment Advisory Service was in its pilot stage. Over the years, Zane has consulted with credit unions on investment portfolio management, asset/liability management, investment/ALM policies, and strategic balance sheet recommendations and has had responsibility for managing portions of Catalyst’s investment portfolio.

Prior to joining Catalyst Corporate, Zane was investment portfolio manager for Nowlin Savings Association, where his duties also included directing asset/liability management.

Zane has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in finance, both from the University of North Texas, and holds FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses. Zane has served as an instructor at CUNA’s Southwest Management School and is a frequent speaker at credit union events. Zane was board member and Treasurer of Metroplex CU prior to its merger with another Dallas-based credit union.
