Young Professionals to Share Economic & Payments Forum Experiences

by Catalyst Corporate | Sep 10, 2019

Expect to see some fresh, new faces at Catalyst Corporate’s 2019 Economic Payments Forum in Frisco, Texas later this month. Chelsea Gstohl, Assistant Vice President of Marketing at Pelican State Credit Union, and Lucas Pequeno, Controller at Caprock Federal Credit Union, will represent "young professionals" at this year’s event, titled “The Future is Coming.”

Together, Chelsea and Lucas will shed new light on Catalyst Corporate’s 42nd annual Economic & Payments Forum for other credit union young professionals. They will attend a dozen sessions and share their unique perspective on content, speaker insights and their overall experience.

“Forum has traditionally served as a source of information most useful to CEOs, CFOs and board members who direct strategy at their credit unions. However, in our changing workplace, the next generation of leaders, who have not yet reached the c-suite, are becoming more influential in organizational success,” said Terry Young, Catalyst Corporate Vice President of Communications & Marketing.

“The forward-looking emphasis of the Economic & Payments Forum is addressing the future that today’s young professionals will lead,” he added.

Chelsea has been a member of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based Pelican family for nine years, starting as a Marketing Representative in 2010. Chelsea loves working with the credit union’s branches and departments to help make their ideas a reality, while they invest and support their branch communities. With Pelican’s 16 locations spread Gstohl across the state, it’s no surprise that Chelsea loves to travel – she is even planning her second trip to Japan with her husband this fall. In addition to her love of travel and her perpetual “Pelican State of Mind,” she serves as Chair of the Louisiana Credit Union League Young Professionals Network, investing time in the future of the credit union movement to ensure the cooperative spirit and people-helping-people philosophy continue for many years.

Lucas serves his credit union’s members in Lamesa, Texas. With over four years of credit union experience, Lucas joined the Caprock FCU team in 2018. He enjoys building relationships with his members and working Pequeno Croppedalongside his dedicated coworkers. Ultimately, Lucas values the opportunity to serve the greater good of his membership each and every day. He is an active member of the Cornerstone Credit Union League Young Professionals Network and attended the 2018 Cornerstone Leadership Conference, as well as the 2019 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference, as a “crasher." Lucas looks forward to using his credit union experience, financial services knowledge and young professional involvement at this year’s Forum.

Catalyst Corporate is honored that Chelsea and Lucas will attend Forum, as their dedication and passion are central to the ongoing success of the credit union movement. Of course, credit union professionals of all ages and stages are welcome to attend the Economic & Payments Forum. Are there young professionals at your credit union who might benefit from the content and networking offered by this event?
