Annual Meeting: ‘Successful Year in 2019,’ ‘Outstanding Start in 2020’

by Catalyst Corporate | May 05, 2020

More than 75 individuals attended Catalyst Corporate’s 9th Annual Meeting online this morning, at which Chairman of the Board Lin Hodges announced that the organization had a successful year at every level in 2019.

“Of course, as you know, the business environment today is vastly different than the one we had at the close of 2019,” Hodges said. “The good news is that, even in this evolving marketplace, your corporate credit union is also off to an outstanding start in 2020, with first quarter financial results far exceeding budget, liquidity well above projections and very strong capital ratios.”

Referring to the annual meeting theme, “Resilience in Challenging Times,” Hodges said credit unions were born in times of adversity, and they have a history of working together to meet their members’ needs.

“That’s what we’re seeing in this new environment,” Hodges said, “credit unions finding new ways to help their members and each other.”

During the meeting, Catalyst Corporate’s President and CEO Bruce Fox shared what the corporate is doing to help members during the pandemic, including the formation of a special “COVID-19 Updates” section of its website that assimilates a variety of helpful resources for credit unions. He also announced several 2020 initiatives, notably the transition to an innovative, new ACH platform by early fall, and implementation of a program that will provide access to secondary capital for low income credit unions.

Catalyst Corporate’s membership elected four individuals to fill three-year terms on Catalyst Corporate’s volunteer Board of Directors. They are: Gail Enda, President/CEO of American Airlines FCU in Fort Worth, Texas; Greg Harden, President/CEO of Arizona Central CU in Phoenix, Arizona; Ayn Talley, President/CEO of Houston Police FCU in Houston, Texas; and Trevor Tokishi, President/CEO of Valley Isle Community FCU in Kahului, Hawaii.

Other members of the board are: Connie Cofer, SVP Finance/CFO of Communication FCU in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Steven Devan, President/CEO of East County Schools FCU in San Diego, California; Syed Dinar, EVP/CFO at Texas Bay CU in Houston, Texas; Lin Hodges, President/CEO at Associated CU in Norcross, Georgia; Michael Hooper, President/CEO of La Capitol FCU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Rick Hein, President/CEO of Oregon State Credit Union in Corvallis, Oregon; and Jon Hernandez, President/CEO of CalCom FCU.
