Image Files to Receive New Naming Format

by Catalyst Corporate | Apr 20, 2021

Member credit unions and vendors that receive X9 image files from Catalyst Corporate will soon have increased clarity on the types of files they receive. Effective Tuesday, June 1, 2021, Catalyst Corporate X9 image files will incorporate a new file naming format that will provide differentiation between share drafts and deposits.

An example of the current file naming format is shown below:

Example – Current File Naming:

Beginning June 1, Catalyst Corporate will add a three-letter code to the end of each file name, in front of the “.zip” file extension. This is a global change that will affect all credit unions and vendors receiving image files in the X9 file format. The following standardized codes will be used: “_POD” for deposits, and “_SHD” for share drafts AND over-the-counter files. Over-the-counter only files generated separately from share draft only files are considered share drafts and will also reflect the “_SHD” code.

Examples – New File Naming:
Share Drafts Only
Over-the-Counter Only
Share Drafts and Over-the-Counter

To prepare, Catalyst Corporate recommends your credit union take the following actions:

  • Ensure you update any automated scripts used to download image files
  • Reach out to inform your vendor/provider if image files are picked up on your behalf via Secure FTP

Catalyst Corporate strives to meet member/customer needs daily. We continually look for ways to innovate and to improve the efficiency and convenience of our processes.
