Catalyst Corporate Transitions to All-Virtual Forum, Sept. 20-21

by Catalyst Corporate | Sep 07, 2021

After careful consideration, Catalyst Corporate has decided to cancel the in-person, onsite portion of the 2021 Economic & Payments Forum and transition to a completely virtual event on September 20-21.

Given the uncertainty associated with the coronavirus and the devastating impact of Hurricane Ida on many of our member credit unions, Catalyst Corporate believes a virtual conference will provide the best opportunity to safely learn, engage and be inspired.

“We looked at this decision from all angles. Ultimately, it came down to what is most prudent for our members,” said Catalyst Corporate President/CEO Bruce Fox. “We are announcing this change as soon as possible, so attendees can plan accordingly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”

Details of the transition were sent last Thursday, Sept. 2, to those who had already registered for the in-person event.

The virtual Forum will feature two days of presentations by economists, payments experts and Catalyst thought leaders.

Among the presenters is economist and author Jason Schenker. A former guest host of Bloomberg TV and author of more than 30 books, Schenker – ranked one of the “most accurate financial forecasters” – is the founder of the Futurist Institute.

Schenker will provide a macroeconomic view based on the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, while long-time “Forum favorite” Bill Hampel will offer a more focused view on how credit unions can position for success during the rebound. Hampel is the former chief economist for the Credit Union National Association (CUNA).

And as the payments industry continues to evolve at a rapid clip, the executive director of the U.S. Faster Payments Council (FPC) – Reed Luhtanen – will present a state-of-the industry update at this year’s Forum.

These are just a few of the many experts among this year’s exciting lineup. It’s not too late to join the Economic & Payments Forum streaming online September 20-21. For more information, or to register, visit  Learning Center/Conferences on Catalyst Corporate’s website.
