Secure File Transfer Services to Migrate to Secondary Site May 17-21

Please share this important information with appropriate people at your institution.

As part of its ongoing business continuity efforts, Catalyst Corporate will migrate secure file transfer services (securecopy.catalystcorp.org) from its primary data center to its secondary data center. The migration will occur on Monday, May 17 at 8 a.m. Central Time. Services will migrate back to the primary data center on Friday, May 21 at 8 a.m. Central Time.

This temporary migration is to ensure Catalyst Corporate’s secure file transfer service would continue as normal in the event of a service disruption at its primary data center. It is also an opportunity for your institution to validate that its security controls would allow secure file transfers to take place if a failover occurred.

To prepare, please forward the important details below to appropriate IT staff to ensure your institution's firewalls allow this migration.

Questions you may have:

Q: What changes are required by my institution?
A: No client configuration changes are required, but your IT group should review any firewall rules that could potentially prevent file transfers.
Q: What does my IT group need to validate?
A: Some institutions restrict outbound communications through their firewalls to specific locations. Your IT group will need to validate that your system has the same access to Catalyst Corporate’s secondary site as it does the primary site.
Q: Will login change during the migration period?
A: Catalyst Corporate’s secondary system uses the same login details and the same folder structure as its primary system, so no changes are required.
Q: Will this change impact my deadlines?
A: No, secure file transfer systems at both locations process files the same way on their backend systems.

Technical details your IT support team may need to know:

  • The URL for Catalyst Corporate’s secure file transfer site is: https://securecopy.catalystcorp.org
