Geopolitical Strategist John Sitilides Added to 2022 Forum Lineup

by Catalyst Corporate | May 02, 2022

Putin invades Ukraine, NATO and Russia contest for European security dominance, and the EU debates its energy dependence on Moscow. U.S.-China relations grow tense over Taiwan, trade, and human rights, and Washington seeks closer ties with India, Japan and others for regional counterbalance. Meanwhile, Middle Eastern oil and gas supply chains face disruption and weapons proliferation, as Iran pursues nuclear weapons to threaten its Arab neighbors with nuclear weapons.

What happens to the global and U.S. economies as a result of these mounting challenges?

John Sitilides, a Washington D.C. government affairs and geopolitical strategist, will offer his specialized analysis on the subject with attendees at Catalyst Corporate’s 46th Annual Economic & Payments Forum. Sitilides' session, entitled “Washington and the World: The New Geopolitics of Great Power Rivalry,” will explore U.S. and global risk trends and international threat assessments that impact business, investment and policy decisions.

As Principal at Trilogy Advisors LLC, Sitilides manages a government affairs portfolio specializing in environmental regulatory reform. Under a U.S. government contract since 2006 at the U.S. Department of State’s Foreign Service Institute, Sitilides delivers world-class training for senior U.S. foreign policy professionals.

He has testified before Congress and is a regular media commentator on national security and American politics on broadcast, print and digital media. Sitilides has been interviewed on CNN, Fox News, CNN International, Bloomberg News and BBC News, and cited in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Politico, National Public Radio, and Institutional Investor, among others.

He is a member of the Association of International Risk Intelligence Professionals; the Intelligence and National Security Alliance, the Columbia University Club of Washington D.C. and the Association of Former Senate Aides. Sitilides holds a master’s degree in International and Public Affairs from Columbia University.

Sitilides joins the robust line-up of thought leaders being assembled for this year’s in-person event. The 2022 Forum theme – Future Vision: Unfolding our New Environment – gives a nod to the rapid changes facing today’s financial services industry.
